Personal Profile
My name is Michelle N. Eliasson and I am an Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida Atlantic University (starting Fall 2025). I was previously an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Iona University (2023-2025). I graduated with my Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law at the University of Florida in May 2023. I was born and raised in Sweden and moved to the United States in 2017 to pursue my graduate degree.

My current research interests are (but not limited to): Victimology, Policing, Ideal Victim Theory, Researcher Trauma and Saftey, Qualitative Methodology, Ethnography, Criminal Justice Professionals, Restorative Justice, and Criminal Justice Case Process.

In my free time, I like to travel and spend time with my cat Alma.
